Toluwalase "Ennie" Akinwunmi

Ennie is a recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where she merged her love for cities and nature by studying Urban and Environmental Studies. As a Doris Duke Conservation Scholar, she spent two of her college summers in the Bay Area learning about equitable conservation practices and creating an independent research project on the health of urban forests and redlining with the San Francisco Estuary Institute.
On campus, she worked under the sustainability department as an Eco-Rep, pushing the institution to meet climate and sustainability goals. Additionally, she spent her senior year completing a thesis on African American block parties and gentrification in Philadelphia. Ennie is looking forward to combining interests in city planning, law, and ecology in order to protect and preserve lands for communities of color.
In her free time, she loves crocheting, dancing, thrifting, and painting landscapes!
