Maria (she/her) is the Program Coordinator for the Roger Arliner Young (RAY) Diversity Fellowship. She is passionate about mentoring young people and creating a just world driven by the working class. Maria is responsible for creating social media content, assisting with professional development, and providing support to the emerging leaders of color in the environmental field.
Maria received her B.S. in Natural Resources at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She is also an alum of the Doris Duke Conservation Scholars Program (DDCSP) at University of Florida. DDCSP provided her with endless support and inspired her to mentor young people from marginalized communities. She hopes to develop an inclusive space for RAY fellows in the same way DDCSP did for her.
Outside of work, Maria loves to cook, read political theory, explore the world, and play board games with her friends!
