Current Position:
Clean Energy Fellow
Current Organization:
Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance

Zoya will be with the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance as a RAY Clean Energy Fellow for the 2023-2025 Fellowship term. As a Clean Energy Fellow, she will be supporting each of MEEA’s four departments in research, marketing & outreach, and program coordination.

Zoya was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up running around her city’s parks and green spaces, ultimately leading to her fascination with the intersection between nature and the built environment. Prior to the RAY Fellowship, Zoya earned her BSPA in Environmental Management from Indiana University Bloomington. While earning her degree, she served as a Project Coordinator at the IU Environmental Resilience Institute. In this role, she specifically worked on the McKinney Midwest Climate Project, a program that leverages partnerships between students, local governments, and nonprofits to advance climate solutions in Indiana. While working on MMCP, she was inspired by the creativity and determination of Midwestern communities to foster climate resilience regardless of restrictive governance and is thrilled to continue this work with MEEA. She came to RAY after being encouraged to apply by a mentor at IU. She is passionate about making sustainability, clean energy, and conservation spaces accessible and inclusive to all.

In her free time, Zoya enjoys cooking and trying new foods, painting, swimming, practicing yoga, and following pop culture news. She also loves animals and regularly petsits for friends and family.
