2020 Conservation Conversation with RAY Fellow Kalina Browne

Kalina shares her year long journey as a RAY fellow at Ocean Conservancy exploring the connection between the ocean, climate and justice. She brings her point of view as a Caribbean immigrant into her work not only at the subnational level in California but also at the international level at the UNFCCC COP 25 in Madrid. Kalina shares the highlights, challenges and lessons learned as a black woman navigating the field as she transitioned into focusing her research on the effect of climate change on frontline communities. She attributes her success and growth as an emerging environmental leader of color to the communities she has become a part of and shares her hopes for the future.
